Project Brief

The Kumbh camps are designed and set up for each of the Kumbh Melas, to accommodate the mass influx of pilgrims for the event. Undertaken for a Spiritual Organization, temporary premises were set up for the Haridwar Kumbh in 2010.

Given the scarcity of open land, not too many large temporary camps can be put up in Haridwar. Navigating this issue, 42 semi-permanent cottages & a new building as the Master Seat for the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Juna Akhada, Swami Avdheshanand Giriji, were built in the Harihar Ashram at Kankhal.

The Ashram being ancient heritage, the Datt Sadan was designed as a traditional courtyard building with old Indian architectural elements, to make the building merge with the existing heritage campus while still standing out as the primary structure.
